I’m sure that you know someone that bleaches, a friend, a family member, yourself?

19 Dec

Bleaching has become a trend, and celebrities are doing it too. Whether they have admitted or denied the accusations, a lot of Hollywood celebrities are  getting lighter and lighter for some reason and it might be that they are bleaching.

The people we are talking about are rich! They can afford any beauty product, and they can change their looks as it suits them. Its their job to look fabulous, all day, all night, so maybe before accusing them of  bleaching, we should consider, that it’s the great products  they are using that have resulted in flawless skin, and beside that, celebrities photos are result of many people’s work, from the make-up,  air brushed foundation to hairdressing  and lighting, but for some of these celebrities, their skin has changed dramatically over the years, and having flawless skin doesn’t mean your skin should get 10 shades lighter.

Some can argue that celebrities bleach themselves, because of the better treatment lighter Afro-Americans receive in Hollywood,  such as in  television, magazines, and better endorsements.

However, we can all agree that these celebrities have gotten a little lighter over the years and it’s obvious to see.

Here you have black celebrities who have been accused of lightening their skin.

Actually if you compare an interview with Beyoncé from the 2010’s with an interview clip of 1998’s Destiny’s Child, you’ll realize she has about the SAME SHADE. People are hating on her for no reason, and there is no need for this black-on-black mud-throwing. I say interview clip cause it is a bit easier to compare than photos.

As you write, it is hard to compare pictures taken at different times for different purposes, with different lighting. Also the season matters. It’s like people forget that we afros get tanned too during days of heavy sun. I know I do and I’m 100% UG of Ganda and Toro decent. Then it surely is the case for Beyoncé too who is Afro-creol; African, French, Portugeese and Native American.

Rihanna is Caribian also a people with mixed heritage and prone to the sun’s effect.

Amazing blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for
a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Kudos!
